When I see examples of Mebeam, like on Youtube for example, the window shows a larger video window that is centered.

When I start a room, the vid is small and at the top left.
If I zoom in, the quality suffers, of coarse, but then I cannot see the text without moving the screen to peak at what is typed.
Maybe something is not optimized for my screen resolution?
(LCD screen set at max res)
This makes it not very practical for 2 people chatting.

Yes, a user needs to read the Mebeam Help and FAQ.

Note:  (from the Mebeam Help):
Mebeam is still in heavy development, so the layout
and options may change back and forth...

The Old Style (Original) Mebeam is (still) using a larger video.

Trying to connect after hearing good report. No use. All I get is a screen showing the listed results of searching Ask.com for mebeam.com/<roomname>/hpc. Why?
I have XP SP3 2GbRAM 2.66 Gh CPU FF or IE browsers same result. Is your site linked in some way? My friend's don't have this problem. Ask is not in my toolbars, I had it but have now uninstalled it.
Thanks,
Setplans

Read the FAQ to know you need your picture as avatar!

The format of a direct URL to a specific roomname is:
http://www.mebeam.com/<roomname>
where <roomname> is your roomname.
See FAQ and Help.

Example for the 'worldwide' Mebeam roomname:
http://www.mebeam.com/worldwide

Otherwise, just connect to: http://www.mebeam.com/
and type the roomname.

Note: Some toolbars do not uninstall correctly, or need
the system to be restarted. And it can be, that when
such a tool is installed, the browser will exchange the
standard 404 (page not found) error with one from such
a tool. Check out the above mentioned points when
using direct URL to connect to Mebeam, otherwise you
can/should get the 'page not found' (404) error.

The site owner does never link to other sites.

You must have installed other software or tools (also trustworthy tools) to get ASK

... most people overlook the installer options of included advertisement tools

... it's not easy to get it off your system and browser.

but there are some other ways... to find it out: Google is your friend.

Thanks, Everything is working properly now. I just uninstalled Firefox, then downloaded it and re-installed it. MB ran perfectly and no problem with Ask.com, which I had previously uninstalled but found still attached to FF.
It did have a big delay on sound, particularly when conferencing with six people. I presume there was too much traffic at the time.

In the Mebeam FAQ there is a lot of relevant info.

Because I do not want to reinvent the wheel, all is
there gathered together.

Note, that traffic is one point, but own ISP quality is
another... I assume people are using quite modern
computers today... But at least P3 1200 and P4 1500
MHz or better and no heavy background tasks will do.
But note the available bandwidth from your ISP.
