I read about that happening to someone else, but it didn't happen to me so the reason really needs to be investigated.

When I get the FF popup that an update is ready I normally ignore the popup and download the full version from the site and overwrite the old version. This time I accepted the popup update which was very quick, so it must have been just a few files. Later I downloaded the full version.

The reason I normally download the full version of 5.8MB is that I like to keep the files on my PC in case I need to reinstall it or an earlier version, whereas the update doesn't allow you to do that.

I've got WIN XP SP2 on a Dell desktop.

I had never such troubles with FF neither with W2K nor XP

- there must be any wrong in or with your system
- search and look at bookmark.htm

Had the auto-update on 3 PC's, office, home (XP) and my Vista basic laptop. No issues, all bookmarks still there.

Incidentally, I would love to have the IE "zoom" function in FF. Any way to fix that short of using IE?

Hi Fortra - thanks for this advice, very usefull!

Sadly it only works for images, so I still cannot enlarge e.g. the Mebeam window like I can in IE.
Still, in many cases I will be using it. Great advice.

Hi, folks ! :)

If you´re looking for zoom options in FF, why don´t you just use the mouse gestures extension?
http://optimoz.mozdev.org/gestures/

After installing it, just place your mouse pointer over the wanted area (it doesn´t matter, if it´s a pic or text)
and drag it from an upper left position to a lower right one to zoom in.

To zoom out again, drag the mouse pointer from a lower right position to an upper left one.

Let me add, the extension doesn´t work on flash objects like the MeBeam box, unfortunately.
